Chief Brian Jones
Chief Brian Jones was officially sworn in by Lieutenant Montez on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Bee Cave Police Department. Chief Jones leads our Bee Cave Police Department after previously overseeing the Southeast Area Command, known as Frank Sector, for the Austin Police Department.
Chief Jones started his law enforcement career in January 1997, joining the Austin Police Department's 89th cadet class. After 24 years with the department, he retired as Commander in August 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas - Austin and Master's Degree from Texas State University in Criminal Justice.
Lt. Vicente Montez
Lt. Montez currently serves the City of Bee Cave as the Criminal Investigations Commander.
Lt. William Pitmon
Lt. Pitmon currently serves the City of Bee Cave as the Patrol Commander.
Lt. Pitmon began his career serving as an Infantryman in the United States Army, before becoming a Texas Licensed Peace Officer in 1995. Lt. Pitmon worked as a Deputy Constable for Denton County, before serving in the Fugitive Investigations/Warrants Division with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office. While serving in Denton County, Lt. Pitmon was assigned to misdemeanor and felony fugitive unit, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, and sworn as a Special Deputy Marshal of the US Marshal’s Service. After his tour with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, he worked as a narcotics investigator for the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office where he was assigned to the Brazos Valley Narcotics Task Force.
Lt. Pitmon holds a Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Master Peace Officer’s License, TCOLE Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Field Training Officer, and a wide variety of specialized training. He has also presented at several conferences as a guest speaker over various law enforcement topics.
